In front of the School in the Nature

For this one I went up to 9 brackets, from -4 to +4 EV. The reason for this was, that I wanted the sky and also the inside of the building to be nicely visible. And I think it worked.

Decorated ceiling

The new blog

View this photo on my new blog http://blog.hdrshooter.net and you will also see the detailed information on my camera settings, where this photo was taken and today, I also included a Promote control review today 🙂

Decorated ceiling

A lot of people from Bratislava will not recognize where was this taken. I wouldn’t either a few weeks ago. But now I know, that this is the ceiling in the historical building of the Slovak National Theater. The light in the middle is also very interesting. It’s created from hundreds of old style light bulbs and can be switched into different configurations, of which ones are turned on.

Mountains in the distance

The new blog

To see the before/after comparison of my daily photo, info on my camera settings and the location where it was taken, please go to the new blog http://blog.hdrshooter.net

Mountains in the distance

This is the view from the top of the Alcazar in Segovia. It really was just beautiful. After it was overcast the whole morning, the sky cleared and we had this beautiful view of the city. The view was great, but the light was horrible. The photos came out colorless, really boring. I edited this few times, until I was at least partially satisfied with the result. I you look at the comparison with the original 0EV shot, you will see what I mean.

Moving to a new blog

Moving to a new blog

As I mentioned before, my blog is moving to a new address. After two years I’m leaving wordpress.com in favor of a self hosted wordpress site. The new blog is here:

blog.hdrshooter.net

Please update you bookmarks and subscriptions, so you can receive my regular daily updates.

And whats new on the new blog:

  • new theme, I think it’s cleaner and showcases the photo much more
  • detailed photo information, on every photo you can see the gear I used and what were my setting for the shots
  • geotag information, each new post includes a map with the location where the photo was taken
  • and my favorite new feature before/after comparison, a lot of new posts will include a comparison between the original and the final HDR photo (it’s already added to few of my recent posts)

and there will be more 🙂

I’m still working on the new site, but I decided to share it with you. So I hope you like it as much as I do 🙂

Thank you for all your visits, comments and support, hope to see you all on my new blog 🙂

This blog (hdrshooter.wordpress.com) will be updated for the next few days, and after that I will turn on a redirect, so it points to the new one.

Testing the Promote

I have the Promote remote for a week now and I have been testing it quite a lot. And i decided to try it on one of my favorite views in Bratislava, the view of the New Bridge. I did 7 shots here. I could use even more, as still there are few overexposed areas. But still, I’m very impressed with the amount of detail you can get when using more than 3 shots.

Last night in Madrid

Last night in Madrid

This was taken the last night I was in Madrid. My friends decided to visit a gallery, but I preferred a place where I could take photos. This was again a scene like created for a HDR. The whole bottom part is very light, with the building and the base of the statue very bright. On the other side, the sky was dark, and the statue has no lights pointing to it. But with HDR I got both.

School in the Nature

School in the Nature

We had a very lovely weather yesterday. I spend most of it on the Biofarm in Stupava. Eating great traditional Slovak food and taking photos. One of the buildings in the areal was this “School in the Nature” which is probably used only in the Summer.

This is the first HDR I published, which I took with the help of the Promote Control remote. After few problems I got the hang of it and it now works flawlessly. For this one I did 7 exposure, from -3 to +3. I will test it more, and then write a little review of it for this blog.
